A monolithic marble clad island is central to the space, creating a striking feature as well as a practical working and prep space. Breakfast bar seating along the back of the island forms a casual spot for children to complete homework while the parents cook, then effortlessly transitioning to relaxed mealtimes.
Running parallel, the traditional Aga stove provides a reminder of the period history of the home, further creating a pronounced juxtaposition to the sleek and refined cabinetry and finishes.
Along the back wall a hidden breakfast cabinet provides ample storage and a place for worktop appliances to be kept off worktops. With close proximity to the gardens, mini ‘boot room’ and ‘utility’ cabinets were included, to keep damp coats & muddy shoes out of the main house, and provide a place to wash off dog leads and collars after brisk walks around the estate grounds. The tall cabinetry sits beside the bold dining space booth seating with additional storage space in drawers below.
Thoughtfully considered lighting throughout the space softens the rich, dramatic veining in the stone and dark wood veneers and understated display areas feature playful finishing touches bringing personalised charm to the kitchen.
