Rebecca on the Beauty of Wood: Bijou Beauty Featured in KBB Magazine

We’re delighted to share that our Bijou Beauty project, featuring our Darling Maeve Hockney cabinetry, has been showcased in the March 2025 issue of KBB Magazine! As part of their Cabinetry Styles Explained feature, the article highlights the beauty and practicality of our handcrafted designs.

Our Design & Studio Manager, Rebecca Barker, shares her insight:

"The on-trend raw wood aesthetic blends rustic charm with contemporary sophistication. Wood is durable and can be refinished over time, but exposure to direct sunlight may cause bleaching—regular maintenance like oiling helps preserve its timeless appeal. Through finishing techniques such as smoking, oiling, and staining, timber cabinetry can be tailored to suit a range of schemes. Pronounced grain patterns create a bolder, rustic feel, while subtle grains with lighter oils result in a softer, Scandi-inspired look. Timber works beautifully in both modern and traditional kitchens, pairing effortlessly with raw materials such as veined marble, textured concrete, and brass."
